We recently updated our ongoing plans for including and supporting disabled learners on their learning journey.

Literacy Aotearoa collaborates with CWS in a number of regions to deliver education to participants, supporting their skills development and their chances of employment success.

We recently reviewed our organisation against the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 to make sure we continue to support our learner's well being

Kia ora whānau. Seasons Greetings! 2023 has been a busy year. Thousands of learners took up the challenge to learn for free with Literacy Aotearoa.

The Dyslexia-Friendly Quality Mark (DFQM) has been awarded to Literacy Aotearoa | Ikaroa-Rāwhiti | Gisborne Cluster in recognition of its commitment to being a dyslexia-friendly organisation.

Dr. Claire McGowan took up her role as CEO/Te Tumuaki of Literacy Aotearoa in Hui tanguru (February) this year and is currently touring our sites

A huge thank you to Ara Institute Timaru for the use of their gym for the launch of the Tupu Aotearoa programme in Timaru on 2 Poutū‑te‑rangi (March) and a big thank you to all that attended.

We deliver the Tupu Aotearoa programme in Christchurch through our amazing local team. The Ministry for Pacific Peoples recently published an article about one of our graduates.

Demand from adults needing help with basic tasks such as filling out a form is showing a need for increased literacy support in Northland.
